PeeeeeeeeeGeeeeeeeee Strawberry Days

In June was the annual Strawberry Days right here in Pleasant Grove. We tried to take advantage of some of the fun things going on in the city. Ellie and I went to the city boutique one day over lunch, we stayed longer than we planned so Kevin met us and we had a fun boutique lunch. We went to the carnival and rode all sorts of rides. (My favorite is still the big yellow slide, which Ellie is still a little afraid of.) But the main event that is looked forward to all year long is the radio (rodeo.) We invited Grandma and Uncle Jed and headed to the radio. Ellie loves the rodeo and honestly asks about when we get to go again several times in the year. You would assume with all of the anticipation that it might not live up to expectation, but it without a doubt has never failed us.

We were graced with princesses and ponies again, Ellie had 2.5 servings of strawberries and cream - but my favorite comments this year came from Ellie as she watched in amazement some of the incredible things that happen there.

When it was steer wresting time we had watched several men wrestle and tie the steer with no issues. One cowboy's steer was getting the best of him and when he was done Ellie said, "That cow was attackeling him!"

For the additional entertainment we were so excited that they brought back the freestyle motocross racers this year. They did awesome jumps and one did a couple of back flips. Ellie got into the excitement with the rest of the crowd and said, "If the horses did that I'd be so freaked out."

Everything that kept happening pumped us up all night and at one point Ellie just bursting with excitement said, "Don't tell me....this is the best night ever!!"

Ellie also realized this year that most people say "rodeo" instead of radio. But she decided you could say it either way.

The only downer was my camera died after the first picture of the night. Thank you PG...it was another successful Strawberry Day's Rodeo
