February is just so sweet. It seems we spent the first half of the month doing Valentine stuff and the second half with family and friends. Ellie and I had an incredible Valentine date that was worthy of its very own post. But we also had a lot of other special days that I'll have to combine into one post. In order to actually finish this post I think I'm going to have to bullet it.
February 1st - Superbowl Sunday. It wasn't the Superbowl Ellie was looking forward to this day. Grandma had promised to do a "craft" on Sunday and that was all Ellie could think about. We got invited to our neighbor's house to watch the game and Ellie said, "We can't go, that is the day we are doing the craft with grandma."
February 2nd - Groundhog day. Ellie wants to know next year when she can SEE the groundhog.
February 3rd - Ellie got to stay with her cousins a little while longer so they could spend some quality time at the library.
February 6th - Ellie got her Valentine cards out and ready a week early. She was so excited to put her name on each card.
February 6th - We purchased one of the greatest kid movies ever. Madagascar 2. We watched it and laughed over and over again. Girl...you huge. She has informed me kindly that I'm chunky. Thanks Moto Moto.
February 7th - We went with Grandma and Uncle Jed to the boat show. Ellie wanted to go in every boat and she also liked watching the demo of the wake boarders. I hope she's as into the boat this summer when we get it back out!
February 10th - Ellie got a bump on her head jumping on the couch at her cousin's. Ouch.
February 13th - Ellie's school had a Valentine party - she couldn't wait to take each Valentine out one by one and read each name. She had to do several in the car on the way home. In the picture she is laughing because she gave herself one! She also got to go to a birthday party for her friend Kylie from school. It was her first school-friend party.
February 13th -San Diego Trip!! Uncle Jed volunteered to watch Cash so we could go on a small trip. After we dropped Cash off this was the dialogue:K: Do you think Cash will have fun at Uncle Jed's?
E: Oh yeah, Jed's fun
K: What do you think he'll do?
E: Pee on the floor

February 13th - on the plane ride to San Diego Ellie's ears were "twitching" and her arm was "buzzing" - I had to laugh at the words she used to describe when the air pressure caused her ears to adjust and when the blood circulation was cut off in her arm.
February 13th - When we landed in California we got to surprise cousin Mason with a quick visit. We just showed up at her door and she was so surprised/confused! Mason told grandma that time with Ellie is the best time in her life. I think Ellie would agree. They were so excited they were running around the house and belly bumping. They are so cute I only wish we had more time together.
February 14th - Our Valentine DateFebruary 15th - LegoLand! Ellie is not very brave when it comes to fast rides or new things - but she did ride all of the rides at LegoLand and we had an incredible day. Her favorite ride was this really slow boat ride with fairy tales along the way. She got so excited she did her own little dance. On a different boat ride she was actually able to drive the boat and she kept going from side to side and bumping each wall. When we got to the end she almost hit something and she said, "That could have been a disaster!"
February 15th - We left the park (after getting a hair braid) to finish the night at Old Town San Diego and then with push-up pops.
February 16th - Ellie got to have another quick visit with Mason at In-and-Out before we left for home.
February 20th - Ellie and I had a play date/lunch with our good friends Rachel and Luke. Then I took her to a birthday party for her friend Ireland, then Grandma invited us for a little bowling at our favorite lanes. Even though it wasn't Thursday night bowling we went and had so much fun all day running from thing to thing.
February 21st - Our dear friends the Turners and the Livingstons invited Ellie and me out for an entire day of playing outside, a BBQ, and more playing. It was fun to play with friends we hadn't seen in a long time and to spend the day outside. February 22nd - We FINALLY got our Chococat watches. We had been going to McDonald's all month with hopes of getting the Hello Kitty Chococat watch. Each time we'd both get a Happy Meal and hope it was in the bag. On the 22nd Kevin took Ellie to get some lunch and I said, don't get me a Happy Meal...Ellie was so concerned that it might be the day we got the watches. I had given up. She got her Happy Meal in the car, opened it up, and inside the bag was not only one...but two Chococat watches! It was fate. She was so excited to come home and show me. I too was excited. How ironic that the day I didn't get a Happy Meal was the day the watch we wanted was in it and that they had put two in her bag instead of one. The stars must have been aligned. :)
February 24th - Ellie got a haircut. Not just a trim, but a haircut. She goes back and forth on whether she likes it. I'm pretty sure she wants it long again. I think she looks adorable.February 26th - Kevin's sister and brother-in-law came to visit in Utah. We picked them up, had some sushi (Ellie LOVES sushi), and enjoyed some time with them. Ellie wanted to know when she would see Carrie again. Fortunately, she got to later that weekend.
Even though February is a short month, it was action packed for us. We love our family and friends!
