Circus
Saturday we went to the Circus. I don't remember anything clever that Ellie said to write, but we had a fabulous time regardless. The elephants were her favorite part.
Simple Logic
Most Saturday mornings in the fall are spent watching Ohio State football. Yesterday Kevin was here and yelling at the players and the coach when he didn't agree with what was happening. I had made Ellie a little fort on the ground in front of us where she was hiding out and playing. She heard Kevin and without getting out of her fort or even looking back said, "They can't hear you Kevin, it's only the TV."
Ellie's advice to Kevin made about as much impact on Kevin's yelling as Kevin's yelling did on the players and the coach in the game. :)

Lunch
Ellie....."Girl cheese sandwich" (yet I heard gerled cheese - which I thought was a bad pronunciation of grilled)
Brooke...."Kevin?"
Kevin....."Grilled cheese"
Ellie...."No, you want a boy cheese sandwich." (I was wrong, it wasn't gerled at all...it was a girl cheese and obviously a boy cheese sandwich.)

100 Tired
"Hey Ellie, let's jump in the bath tonight so you can be ready for school tomorrow."
"Mom, I am one-hundred tired."
She took a bath this morning as "one-hundred tired" is obviously way too tired to take a bath at night.

Tru-Fee
Last year and this, Ellie has been in a dance group through Bliss Acadamy. She is in the group with her cousin Kamri. (Kamri told me the correct spelling of her name a few nights ago at our sleepover.) At the end of the dance season last year Bliss took the little group to Lagoon for a competition. Ellie came home from dance and was so excited to tell me that they might win a tru-fee.
And they did. The cute little tigers took the third place tru-fee!

Just a great day
September 8th was my birthday. My mom always did a great job of making birthdays a special day for each of us. It became a day to really celebrate and enjoy. I have indeed taken that and run with it. Each birthday is enjoyable spent with family, friends, and loved ones.
Yesterday was a big day for all of us and some really fun memories came out of the day.
First story of the day came as I was waking up (next to Ellie)
She said....Mom, last night when I was going to sleep, I oinked like a pig.
We both laughed, then I asked....Do you know what day it is?
"Wednesday" "No" "Friday" "No" "Saturday" "Nope" "The 5th" "Nope" ....."Your Birthday!" "Yep!"
a few minutes later
what day is it?
oink
School crown
indian and the jones
I'm all sugared up

Best Friends
Ellie LOVES her cousin Mason and Mason LOVES her cousin Ellie. This summer as I've been off work they have had more time than usual together (Mason lives in California.) They are incredible to watch interact and instead of trying to write all the fun stories of the girls from our trips to LA, Disneyland, Universal Studios, Camping, Boating, the 24th of July Parade, etc., here are the fun pictures. I love these girls!

Jip Joe
Ellie has the book (thanks to my good friend Kathy) Clifford's ABC. Each page has a letter and then pictures with words that start with that letter. For example (for the slower readers) the first page is A and on the page is an Ant, Axe, Anchor, etc. One night this summer we were in bed reading the book; Ellie would say the letter and then follow with the pictures. When we got to the letter J there was a picture of a jogger on the page but he looks more like he is tip toeing around instead of jogging. Ellie started the page with Jet, Jacks...pause...Jip Joe! She knew she had made the J work for her and we all started laughing. She thought it was so funny (and it was) that Jip Joe became the new standard for that picture.

Sassasaurus
What you said?
Cause um I do!
But um I don't!
All the times I do and all the times I do!
Uh huh mom, I really did (or it really was.)
She also has a really cute way of reacting to things she likes and the one liner is usally:
That's pretty cool.
or That's pretty (insert adjective here)
The picture is her jumping from one hotel bed to another; she said, "That's pretty fun."
There's no crying in baseball!
Ellie gets to spend each Tuesday and Thursday at her cousin Kamry's house while I work. After work I pick Ellie up and we have made it a tradition to go bowling on Thursday night when possible.
Ellie has a little saying, "But I will be sad for you!" to express that she will miss you. One night we were getting ready to bowl and Kevin still needed to go pick out a ball. He was getting ready to leave us and said, "Hey Ellie, will you be sad for me?"....Ellie's reply (which is now our favorite line when we hit the All Star Lanes) was :
"You can't be sad at bowling!!"
